Specialties
Sports Medicine
Sports medicine is Dr. MacKenzie’s fellowship training. As a former assistant team physician for the Miami Dolphins and Miami Heat, he treats shoulder and knee injuries in athletes of every level, starting with nonsurgical care and moving to arthroscopic surgery when an injury needs it.
Rotator Cuff Repair
Arthroscopic repair for tears that keep hurting or weakening despite therapy.
Shoulder Instability & Labral Repair
Care for dislocations and labral tears, from rehabilitation to arthroscopic stabilization.
ACL Reconstruction
Arthroscopic reconstruction with a graft matched to your age and sport, followed by a structured return-to-play plan.
Meniscus Repair
Saving the meniscus whenever a tear is repairable, with a targeted arthroscopic trim when it is not.
Cartilage Restoration
Resurfacing focal cartilage damage in younger, active patients to help delay joint replacement.
Joint Replacement
Dr. MacKenzie performs anatomic and reverse shoulder replacement with the InSet® system, robotic partial and total knee replacement, and robotic total hip replacement using the Mako system. Every plan starts with nonsurgical options, and replacement is recommended only when the joint needs it.
Total Shoulder Replacement
Total shoulder replacement aims to relieve shoulder pain and restore mobility when arthritis or joint damage has not improved with other treatments. The procedure replaces the worn joint surfaces with an anatomic implant that recreates the shoulder’s natural shape.
Reverse Shoulder Replacement
A reverse shoulder replacement is designed to relieve pain and improve arm function when the rotator cuff cannot be repaired. It uses a specialized implant that changes the joint’s geometry so other muscles can power the arm.
Shoulder Arthritis
Every option from therapy and injections through replacement, explained plainly.
Robotic Knee Replacement
Partial and total knee replacement planned from a CT scan and performed with the Mako robotic arm.
Robotic Hip Replacement
Total hip replacement with Mako robotic-arm assistance, planned from a CT scan for implant position and leg length.
Fractures, Injections & More
Care for broken bones from the collarbone to the ankle, plus in-office corticosteroid injections for shoulder and knee pain.
Fractures & Trauma
Collarbone, shoulder, arm, hip, knee, and ankle fractures, treated with a sling, cast, surgery, or replacement as needed.
Injections
In-office corticosteroid injections for shoulder and knee arthritis, bursitis, and tendinitis.
